Fauziah Hey, I just got my samsung x660. and it's a pretty nice phone. however, i cannot use my infrared with other cellphones. is that normal? i can't even send to other phones. I don't know anyone who has a samsung, but i find it pretty annoying that i can't use my infrared. help, please!

<unknown> To transfer any type of files to the phone, including mp3s, the file has to be less than 100KB large. That means just cutting the sony down to a smaller 'ringtone' length size. There are quite a few freeware programs on the internet that'll let you do it.

i have had this phone for over 2weeks,and i must say that when i found out the phone had infared i was qwite pleased,but that dosnt work,also the memory issnt that good,the camrea qwallity is okay,but guys its a new phone why hasnt it got bluetooth every other new phone has,but it is easy 2 use if your not boverd about infared.

Paolo I have had my cellphone for 2 days, and I can use the infrared port for upload and download images, mp3 ringtones, applications an everything from the phone to my laptop without a problem.
I think that the people that is complaing have no idea of what they can do with the phone, or are simply to dumb to use this phone.
The phone is small, the pictures are OK for a phone it's price (if you want a 10mega pixels picture buy a camera).
The only thing that I dislike is that I cannot have the vibration mode and the melody at the same time, you can have: vibration, melody, and vibration THEN melody, but I will find my way to live with that.
Anyway my rate (so far) is an 8.5/10.

Yes Jamster should be able to support your x660, because I've gotten 5 ringtones from there already.
If you want to be sure just go to the compatibility section in the site, select your model (x660), then check if it's compatible with mp3 ringtones. It should say yes.
But instead of mp3 ringtones they call it realtones or whatever.

<unknown> 1 flaw... if u download a chat program like www.mxit.co.za/wap it is saved in java, but try logging in ... impossible. heard this is a flaw with a couple of samsung models. something 2 do with lack of software. had i know bout this i would never have bought this phone. maybe samsung could provide a downloadable program to solve this problem or else i have no other alternative but to sell this heap of junk 2 some 1 who does not like chat room sites.
Phill yeah its a mad phone too bad it doesnt have bluetooth and my infrared only send docs like contacts and calender notes but im going to a optus world to customize that hopefully othe than that its a really great phone and it has a clean visual display of the photos and videos good work guys
P.S can someone tell me if i can get bluetooth downloaded or something on it?
ken oh my God.. after reading all of your opinions im not buying samsung x660.. well a leading telecoms in philippines is offering me a plan with free handset and thats x660.. but after knowing the specs and bad sides of this phone im not gonna get it.. better stick to nokia with bluetooth and infrared that works with all phones.. goodluck guys with x660.. better change it!!!
nismo This phone is the worst. It doesn't have many features. Don't buy it. Samsung is fobby. It doesn't even come with the USB cable, and if you do want that you have to order it into shops and pay an extra $56.00 for it. Waste of money.. it doesn't even send MP3's to your phone. I've had this phone for 6 days now and I already want to re sell it. Extremely dissapointed =[
