Samsung Q105 Cell Phone Reviews

Nedko The phone is great but I wondered can I find some additional ring tones or pictures pls e-mail me

verge Q105 owners... is this phone capable of "picture" or "graphic" messaging (SMS)?
Can the Samsung Q105 properly display (instead of weird characters) the received "picture" or "graphic" messages sent from other phones?

gd 2 week update: I agree with David, it sucks that it doesn't store emails. It doesn't have a calculator i don't think, and it doesn't have voice dialing. these are the things that bother me the most. I don't care much for games, they're ususaly shitty games like snake or something anyway on the nokias... the images are in .scs format, you can get more that are included on the cd rom it came with, but they are mostly girlish pictures. i tried all over to located what the hell a .scs image file is.. unsuccesful thus far... I have a solution to the ringtone problem for you guys, its easy to do..download the CODING WORKSHOP RINGTONE CONVERTER. IT is a VERY good program. i am using the free trial that only allows you to convert a set amount of music notes. ANY SONG IN NOKIA RTTL FORMAT SOUNDS GREAT when converted thru this program. they have the q105 supported in the program. If you want to spend a little time, you can do what i did. Since this program only converts the first 15 or so notes, I converted one segment at a time. first notes, then second, then third, you get the point. it takes a bit longer, but at least i don't have to pay for the software. right now i have Eiffel 65 Blue on it. SMS messaging is DAMN cool, esp. international. only 5 cents thru voicestream it rules. this is a damn cool looking world phone i get a lot of looks and its so light. world phones usually aren't this small/light. its the closest to getting that matrix phone look without actual chrome paint which costs a bundle. Have hooked it up to my PC. sometimes its fickle when i try to load the data to the PC. gotta turn off the phone then turn it on just in at the right time while on my PC i'm selecting the load button. in the setup software, i can't go over 115200 bps or else it screws up, but not a big deal at all. the alarm feature is AWESOME because if i have an appointment even one year from now on a specific day it will sound the alarm when i want it to so i wont' forget and flash my message... even if the phone is off the alarm 'wakes' it up for the message. so far i'm extremely satisfied and the images are really cool and the display is bright and big, but i really want to get some different images. if anyone knows how or where to get them, or make 'em, post here. i give this a 9 for what i paid... 25 bucks out the door tax included.. hahaha. anyways, take advantage of this REBATE going on this phone is easily worth 100 i say if you can get it for that much its a steal.

Fay I have had my Q105 for a couple months now. Really like it. Better than Nokia's up to the 8290. My only problem is the adding words to the T9 Database does not work on my phone. I have followed the instructions step by step as far as typing the word in Multi-tap and then it will automatically be there next time you try to type it after scrolling through the possibles. Not so on my phone. I sms ALOT and this is a pain to have to switch back and forth from T9 to multi-tap for almost every message. Is this true of all Q105's or mine just special? Thanks for all the other info you have all posted here!!

Janiepat I have had the phone for 4 month now and it is good, but I REALLY MISS voice activation, especially in the car...a phone with this many features should have voice activation...anyway. One question, I have not yet programmed the speed dial and my manual is packed away in storage...can someone give me the basics on entering speed dial numbers? Thanks.

mike sullivan Out of 10 cell phones I've owned; this is the best. Although dinky, it literally bounces when dropped--and still works. Using a Wilson cell antenna, it has great range regardless of Voice Streams weak coverage off the freeway--and non-existent analog coverage. It's controls are somewhat Nokia-like; so it's easy to switch from the big "N." It has more thoughtful features than the latter, like a flickering green light to let you know the power is on; an analog clock screen saveer, etc.

aram where can i find ring tones and screen savers for my phone?

dory This phone is nice, but it's a bitch to find ringtones for it.

peter This phone does not synchronize with Outlook, which I was led to believe.

Anonymous This is the best phone I've had. That list includes Nokia, LG, and Mitsubishi. Battery life is reasonable, signal is good, and the size is awsome.
