you are correct it is such a shame it doesnt have infared. however you pe-narse it has bluetooth which is slightly more important and useful you toolbag. what do u want to do infared you trainspotting photos to your mates u brown eye!
D600 User I tried it from shop.. so far alright, great design. However 2 MAIN problem I found..
(1) Slow card reading! I tried to read pictures and movie from my 1GB T-Flash, the reading files list is very slow!! Reading videos/pictures into player is very slow!!
(compare with Samsung D600, D600 around 4-5 times faster!!)
Any new firmware can fix this??
(2) The screen is very yellow!!! I hope you catch my meaning.. like, when showing a WHITE color wallpaper, my D600 shows WHITE, however, D840 shows more dark yellow...
(Of course I set the LCD setting already)
Any one can help??
I want to get D840, however, the card reading speed and the LCD made me disappointed :(

why dont you just switch to another brand of mobile phone. Try Nokia and maybe this will make you happy.
Brett Know a friend who has one, the slide action is sticky and feels very cheap! Not my kind of phone. Sony-Ericcson is the new Nokia :P

hehe yeh In US we get the junks when it comes to cell phone. It will take another 5 years or so to catch up. I use GSM so that I can buy unlocked latest phones.
Most of the Samsung models does't have Ired. I assume they did their market-research as well and there has to be a reason.

samsung rules wow... not bad... not bad at all improvement from D820 i guess 2.0 mega pixel and i guess they did something about that bottom part of the phone (antenna) i think where the dual speakers are... good job sammy good job once again... sleek design, good features! good!!! go sammy!
DrSilverworm Samsung release your other phones (cough D900) before announcing other new phones! if you're going to play this game at least announce new phones with release dates, people want to know when phones will become available so they can compare timeframes with competitors! stupid moves samsung, you are losing potential customers. enough prototypes, start releasing REAL phones!
