O2 XDA IIs Cell Phone Reviews
Jarhead You can’t use MP3 as a ringtone. You will havta convert it either to wav. or midi. There is loads of software floating around the web. Look for MP3 to wav converter or something. I’m currently using samsung’s music converter that came with the phone.
If you need anymore help, I’ll be glad to help!
Semper Fi,
Jeff
sheel I bought one recently. The sound from the ear piece keeps muting repeatedly. I can make and receive phone calls but cannot hear the voice on the other end. Costing extra in phone calls because the connection is being established but no communication.I have to reset it frequently, then it works for a while. Very frustrating due to the unpredictabiity of the problem, it would freeze any moment requiring restting.Battery operating time is not ideal.Goes flat very quickly. Poor product support.Web site has no contact phone numbers in australia.I suggest people looking for PC phone to consider alternative brand.
Scott I purchased the xda mini about 2 weeks ago. I think this phone is the best phone iv ever had! But iv nether had a pda before. There are loads of things you can do with this phone took me a while to get the hang of it though. in fact i am still getting the hang of it. In the past week i found LOADS of great software for it!Easy to install too. Just at first i didnt realise ya had to use active sync. I just tryed copying the files accross and opening them on the pda. obously it didnt work! I think iv had to hard reset about 4 times now. Mainly because i deleted things i shouldnt of have or because of rubish software that wouldnt uninstall properly. I have found it does hang sometimes and does completly crash even the on/off button wouldnt work. just removed the battery. One thing that annoyed me was i found that if i wanted a picture as my background when i opened the keyboard the picture disapeared and wouldnt come back! Best thing you can do is remove all the 02 software visit this website for a guide on how to do this http://www.avforums.com/forums...hp?p=2360081
its so much faster and stable once it is removed. It also solved my problem with having a picture as a background. Overall i would recommend this phone. I give the phone 9 out of 10 as for the o2 software -1 out of 10! oh yea i got tomtom on it too and it looks coo,l just havnt been able to use it yet as i am still waiting for my gps reciever.
sunny i installed the new rom on my phone and then it hanged at 9%. now i am stuck and cannot go back to old rom. device says USB 2.7 version. but i am unable to do anything. any advise on how do I fix this issue. It has error 101 connection problem. even thought usb cable is directly connected. please help!!
SpeedX3 Hi there!!!
I want to buy a new phone, but i don't know more about 02. So i need you to tell clearlly.
I hope that you could help me to choose between 02 Xda2s,O2 Mini and Xda Neo..???, Which one faster than and have a good to use.
Hello There are so many software that u use with this phone. It is just the matter of what kind of software u need. U can not install all of them because it gonna slow down ur phone. U can install UPS software and buy bluetooth receiver. The phone will act as a street directory. It can talk and show u all the speed camera and red light camera. Pocket earth is one of the good software. It tells u the weather and many thing. MS money for pocket PC for business men on a go. Financial Planner software. Cash organiser. many many more. Just think this way. It is a mini laptop. Whatever software compatible with computer. there should be some for this Pocket PC.
anth i have had my xda IIs since december, i had to send the first one back because i could hear people but they couldn't hear me. i have to reset it about once per month, and when i answer the phone it hangs up about one third of the time. i'm less than impressed and am waiting for my contract to be up.
Peter UPDATE TO last weeks "PETER" comment re PARROT CONNECTIVITY from an XDAIIs
Although not described in the Parrot instruction book - their web-site tells you that you have to tell the Parrot that it is talking to a WINDOWS DEVICE - once you do that - it connects effortlessly!!!
<unknown> How can i herd reset my O2 Xda IIs ?
Matt Browning Hi again, I found a few great pieces of software for the IIs;
NoviiMedia remote control - you can turn the xda into a universal remote control, 10 day trial period, £20 to buy best version £10 for a slightly older version - it works brilliantly and so easy to set up. I can control my hi-fi, tv, vcr, iPod speakers, dvd player and anything that i own with an infra-red remote control. You can even customize the look of the control!
ThemeGenerator: You can use it on the phone or the PC, I choose to not have it on the xda as it is a hefty file, but you can take your fav pictures, turn them into desktops for the phone, but also change the colours of the text on the today screen, the navigation bar colour, command bar colour, alert bar colour etc - really simple software
I also downloaded SuDoku for the xda, othello, and a couple of other free games.
My advice to anyone is to go onto www.download.com and searcg 'pocket pc' in software, then you get hundreds of cool ideas.
This is my second pocket pc, and it is a million times better than my last one.
Seeing as i have it perfectly tuned now, does anybody have any proper advice on conducting backups??? Its just that I would hate to lose all this data.
Just mentioning the 'crashing' problem with the xda's - i tried switching to corporate, but that deletes things like the battery icon which i like, so i upgraded the ROM of my device - its really simple - you can get from the O2 website. My deviced hasn't crashed since and I hacen't had to soft reset for weeks.
Thanks
