anchorson I am also about to buy an 5140i. I searched for it at californiacomputer and found out a price of 150$. But they are selling 5140 for 175$. Its kinda wierd. But I guess 150$ is a good price for such a good phone.
I guess it will get cheaper buy release of 5500..

5140 fanclub Well its not waterproof its splash proof,i splash around in the bath with mine all the time and its fine,I have also got several other liquids on it and it still works!

gigjas I love my newly bought 5140i BUT two things bother me. I can only send one picture attached to each email. Is this fixable? If not it is expensive for me to transfer pictures to my IBook one at a time....TECHNOHELP PLEASE..... I also donīt understand why the headset must be plugged in for the radio to work. I never use the friggin headset, the loudspeaker was one of the reasons I bought this phone. The alarm clock can be set to radio and it is possible to set it to loudspeaker, but if the phone is not connected to the headset it rings the standard alarm!!

Mick I purchased this phone just before Xmas. As a phone I have no complain. Keypad is a OK, cant complain these days, if we want things compact as well. Very stylish. Nice and loud loud speaks, and its feature packed. even sound meter and thermometer. Could even be better if it has a barometer also to . No bluetooth, but it has the GPS shell enhancement which I purhcased for GPS and Satellite Navigation which is automatically downloaded on installation. The GPS works well, but the signal is slow to pickup. To me the Travel Guide ( map navigation) is worse than useless so far. I have spent 2 weeks contacting all Nokia websites, telmap ( its software people), and O2 UK,, done and repeated all the settings 100 times, and the Travel Guide ( nav map system ) cant connect, with " Error cannot synchronise with remote server ". Shame all these people tend to know very little and kept passing the buck..It would be nice to hear from anyone who has managed to get the Travel Guide working.. Something like this should be made quite simple to setup without going into complex settings. Not everyone likes to spend a lot of time doing trial and error if a product is good...

robin I've currently got the 5140 and about to upgrade. The logical choice is the 5140i but I am reluctant to do this as the only difference I can see is more colours on the screen? Does anyone have any other suggestions for a water and knock resitant mobile phone??
