Ahmed Fakrouni I am sick of people not getting the point this phones does not send files it can only connect with a headset and the infrared can only send over 1mb. People with sense will read this instead of those that keep posting that their bluetooth does not work.

Sandy Bluetooth is only for the headset, u cant recieve messages via bluetooth.
eamon i got this phone a few days ago and it is quite good, but there are a few problems, its a bit of a cheek the way they advitised bluetooth, (as you need a headset) and the mp3 function (as you have to buy the data cable seperatly). personally i think the best place to buy the cable is www.amazon.com or .co.uk. that is the cheapest place i have found them but i would advise you to buy the cable to get the most out of your NEC e540. because that will allow you to have mp3's, wallpapers, and ringtones.

If you select MENU, then WEB (Option 3), then SETTINGS (Option 5), then WEB PROFILE (Option 1), then under CONNECTION PROFILES select ORANGE-WAP. This should set up your phone for WAP access using GPRS. It may still fail if you cannot get a GPRS signal.

Sue Was looking for a phone for my daughter to go to secondary school with. She wanted a flip phone so a bit limited as i didn't want to spend a fortune. She is over the moon with this phone. At the end of the day she wants to txt and phone and not much else. The camera and video are a bonus and she has had fun with this, but the whole point of a phone was to be able to contact us if in trouble or to let us know whereabouts. If anyone out there looking for a first phone then this is a good one. The manual is very hard to follow but i worked out what to do in very little time just by pressing the buttons and making educated guesses. Not that difficult really. If you want to txt or just phone occassionally then this phone is good. The price was good too, and i got £15 trade in on old phone at Carphone Warehouse.
